From December 11-20, 2025, Professor Sven Ulrich will visit the Poznan University of Technology. The visit will take place as part of the "Excellent International Cooperation Initiative – Short-Term Visits" program, which aims to intensify international research and teaching activities at the Poznań University of Technology.

Professor Sven Ulrich is Deputy Head of the Institute for Applied Materials, Head of the Department Composite and Thin Films, and Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. He received his diploma in Physics in 1991 and his PhD in Physics in 1996, both at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is currently President of the German Vacuum Society and Vice President of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Surface Analysis and Thin Films in Kaiserslautern, Germany. His research focuses on plasma interactions with surfaces during thin film growth, as well as the interrelationships between coating design, plasma conditions, microstructure, and material properties. He is involved in the development of protective and functional coatings, including for lithium-ion batteries. He is the author of over 150 publications and 46 patents (H-index: 40).
