What is the "My PhD in 180 Seconds" contest about?
The contest is an opportunity for doctoral students to present their scientific work to a broad audience. It involves explaining complex issues in a simple way. Beyond the scientific aspect, the contest provides an opportunity to test oneself in public speaking, which is a great advantage in building a career!
Contest schedule
- from 5th February to 7th March 2025: submission deadline: application form
- 27th March 2025: national final organized at the University of Silesia (campus in Sosnowiec)
- 13th June 2025: Central European final organized at the University of Warsaw
To participate in the contest, the following conditions must be met:
- Proficiency in the French language
- Enrollment in doctoral studies in the academic year 2024-2025 or obtaining a PhD degree at a Polish university no earlier than September 2024
- Representing the university where the doctoral student is a student. In the case of a cotutelle PhD, the candidate may represent only one university and cannot register for participation in two countries participating in the contest
- Presenting a sufficient level of advancement in the research project
- Informing their supervisor and/or funding institution and the director of the research unit about the participation in the contest
- Not being a winner/finalist of previous editions of the contest
- Filling out the application form by 7th March
