SAFE Fellowships for at-risk researchers

The EU-funded SAFE project ("Supporting At-Risk Researchers with Fellowships in Europe") has launched a call for fellowship applications, open from 18 November 2024, to 20 January 2025, at 23:59 CET.

SAFE offers 60 fully funded fellowships for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of any non-EU nationality to spend up to 24 months at a research institution within the European Union. Fellowships will be awarded under two tracks:

• Track A: At-risk researchers currently outside the EU.
• Track B: At-risk researchers already within the EU.

SAFE is also offering an optional matchmaking service until mid-December to connect researchers and potential host institutions who do not have prior contact.

Academic or non-academic research organisations in the EU are invited to submit applications on behalf of eligible at-risk researchers. Read more about the fellowships on the project’s website.
